How GIQ works

From football projection to draft board.

GIQ combines player projections with league context so the ranking you see reflects the format you are actually drafting in.

1. Start with a football projection

GIQ estimates a player's expected 2026 workload and production. Depending on position, that can include passing volume, rushing volume, targets, receptions, yards, touchdowns, games played, and other role-based assumptions.

2. Apply the league settings

A catch is worth more in PPR than Standard. Quarterback scoring changes when passing touchdowns are worth six points instead of four. League size changes the depth and scarcity of useful alternatives. GIQ uses the selected settings to load the matching certified board.

3. Compare players by position and overall value

The board is designed to answer a draft question: given the available alternatives at each position, which player should be selected first in this league? That is why a player's fantasy-point total is important, but it is not the only number displayed.

4. Show uncertainty instead of hiding it

GIQ displays a likely range and confidence level alongside the main projection. The goal is to show that two players with similar expected outcomes can carry very different levels of uncertainty.

5. Explain the result

Player profiles show projected statistics, role context, the main reason GIQ likes the player, the primary concern, and how the selected settings can move the player compared with the default board.

What the GIQ score means

The GIQ score is a 0–100 draft-value score for the selected league. A higher number means GIQ would prefer to draft that player earlier on that board. It is a ranking tool, not a probability that the player will succeed.

Current beta scope

  • Redraft, Dynasty, and Keeper boards.
  • PPR, Half PPR, and Standard reception scoring.
  • 4-point and 6-point passing touchdowns.
  • 8-, 10-, 12-, and 14-team leagues.
  • 1QB launch boards.
GIQ changes as football changes.

Rankings are preseason estimates, not guarantees. The value of the tool depends on keeping projections and football context current as news changes.
