PPR vs Standard: the players and positions that move

PPR should reward catch volume. Standard should remove that reward. The useful part is seeing how much that changes the overall board rather than assuming every receiver rises the same amount.

High-volume receivers and receiving backs can gain several overall spots because receptions add points independently of yardage. The size of the move depends on where the player sits in the board and how large the catch contribution is relative to the rest of the profile.

Standard scoring can improve the relative position of rushing-heavy backs and quarterbacks because the board no longer gives a separate point for every reception. That is relative value, not a claim that their projection suddenly became better in real football.

Why Half PPR belongs in the middle

Half PPR is not always a perfect midpoint in rank because rankings are ordinal. A small point change can create a large rank movement in a crowded tier and almost no movement in a separated tier. GIQ therefore scores the actual half-point rule rather than averaging the PPR and Standard rank numbers.

Use format changes to find roster-building tradeoffs

If a player moves sharply between PPR and Standard, that tells you something about the source of his fantasy value. Catch-driven profiles are more sensitive to reception scoring. Touchdown and rushing-driven profiles are less dependent on it. That information can be useful even if you already know which format your league uses.
